Rolling Resistance

An environmental consideration, how fuel efficient is this tyre?
A is the most fuel efficient;
G is the least fuel efficient.
With lower rolling resistance, the tyre dissipates less energy and so reduces fuel consumption and CO2 emission. As this relates to energy usage, a standardised colour scale is used by the EU.

Noise Waves

1 Wave - quietest tyres which are at least 3dB less than future limits set by 661/2009.
2 Waves – meets new 661/2009 standards which come into force between 2012 and 2016.
3 Waves – loudest legal tyres which meet current limits set by 2001/43, but are greater than the new standards.

EU info and Vehicle Classification

Indicates that this label conforms to EU regulation 1222/2009 and tyre class C1, all passenger vehicle tyres.

Wet Grip

A critical safety consideration, how well does the tyre grip on wet roads?
A has the best wet grip performance;
G is the lowest wet grip performance.
Shorter braking distances are required for tyres with better grip in wet conditions.

Decibel Value

Noise output level of the tyres, expressed numerically in dB.

Considerations

Actual fuel savings and road safety depend heavily on the behaviour of the drivers, and in particular the following:
-Eco-driving can significantly reduce fuel consumption,
-Tyre pressure should be regularly checked to optimise wet grip and fuel efficiency performance,
-Stopping distances should always be strictly respected.
