EC 1222/2009 Tyre legislation
In November 2012, new EU tyre labelling regulations (EC 1222/2009) will come into effect standardising the information presented to the consumer of three critical factors that may influence a buying decision.
These factors will include ratings for fuel efficiency, wet grip and external rolling noise.
The ratings assigned to tyres will allow the consumer to make an informed decision.
This means that before a purchase is made, the consumer must be provided with information regarding rolling resistance, wet road braking performance, how well the tyre meets noise standards and the external noise value measured in decibels made by the tyre.
This information must be presented to the consumer where the product is displayed online, in print or in store. The tyre must be accompanied, or displayed online with a pre-approved label in each of these circumstances.
DriveRight realised that the integration of this information into current operational systems would not be simple for the industry to adapt to, so EC1222.com was formed as an independant body to provide a seamless system to provide labels to all factions within the tyre retailing and manufacturing industry.
EC1222.com provides a system to integrate product lists with required Tyre Labelling information and deliver electronic copies of labels in a variety of methods to cater to the various key segments within the industry. The system is flexible enough to provide a solution for label supply, regardless of size of business, or depth of IT infrastructure.
EC1222.com provides solutions for manufacturers and distributors requiring bulk supply of labels, to the owner/operator business requiring one-off, or intermittant label supply.
